35 North is thrilled to announce that our fast-track, design-build project for Invitae has been selected as the 2022 Best Project for Excellence in Safety by Engineering News-Record Southeast. Having also won Best Project in the Renovation/Restoration category for this 125,000-SF mall-to-lab transformation, we want to extend a huge thank you and congratulations to our incredible client Invitae. 35 North and BE&K Building Group worked collaboratively to create an environment of safety, which helped enhance the success of this project.

For most of the project, 180+ people worked on site per day, six days a week, to complete this gorgeous, high-quality, flexible and sustainable laboratory and production facility with office space and training centers.

– 196,520 total work hours
– Zero lost time incidents, recordables, or COVID-19 cases
– Included installation of eight (8) 3,500-lb DOAS units by helicopter
