Durham Early College of Health Sciences Hosts Ribbon Cutting
Join us in celebrating the opening of the Durham Early College of Health Sciences, made possible through the partnership of Durham Technical Community College, Durham Public Schools, Duke University & Duke University Health System, and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
Today’s program highlighted a powerful message: this is more than education and career preparation. It’s about transforming lives and our community—building networks where students not only see what they could be but know they belong.
By creating direct pathways from high school to high-impact healthcare careers, this collaboration provides educational and economic mobility while developing homegrown healthcare talent in Durham.
The program closed with comments from one of the first students, who dreams of becoming a pediatric surgeon and is currently participating in the surgical technician pathway (one of 4 offered).
35 North is proud to have served as the design-builder for this project, in partnership with Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, safely delivering the space early and under budget—providing a foundation for lasting community impact.
