CHAPEL HILL, NORTH CAROLINA

The Carrington Hall School of Nursing, constructed in 1969, is undergoing a significant renovation to better prepare students for their nursing careers. The new 110,000-square-foot building will replace the original west wing and will feature high-bay teaching and simulation spaces, along with the latest in building and envelope design for maximum efficiency and thermal control. The new building will attach to and seamlessly transition with the existing 2005 structure, providing integrated facilities. The surrounding site will undergo upgrades and landscaping to complement the integration of neighboring buildings.

This state-of-the-art facility will enable UNC-Chapel Hill to increase class sizes, expand simulation and clinical learning spaces, and provide enrolled students with the latest technologies. Demolition is scheduled to begin Fall 2024 with an expected completion date of Spring 2026.

35 North provided preconstruction services including constructability, logistics planning, scheduling, and cost management.
