Grainger Hall Classroom Renovation

DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA

To support evolving academic needs and a modern learning environment, Duke University (Duke) renovated adjoining rooms 2107, 2107A, 2107B, and 2104 within an existing campus facility. The project combined these four spaces into one, modernized classroom to enhance instructional flexibility and accommodate larger class sizes. The renovation included selective demolition and upgrades to ceilings, flooring, lighting, and HVAC systems, including some ductwork replacement and new grilles and diffusers.

As the general contractor, 35 North provided comprehensive construction services with a focus on minimizing disruption to surrounding campus operations. We managed logistics and scheduling to ensure a smooth renovation, and our approach prioritized safety, clear communication, and proactive coordination to deliver a functional, future-ready academic space for Duke.
