Laboratory Renovations

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NORTH CAROLINA

Syngenta, a leading science-based AgTech company, is dedicated to sustainable agriculture through cutting-edge research to protect crops and improve seeds. As part of Syngenta’s laboratory optimization master plan, six administrative conference rooms, spanning multiple floors, were slated to be transformed into sophisticated laboratories. The demolition, redesign, and construction took place within an occupied facility and involved substantial HVAC and electrical upgrades. Furthermore, an existing dark room laboratory was transformed into a state-of-the-art cell culture laboratory and included UV sanitization, occupancy sensors, a biosafety cabinet, fume hood, and an environmental control system.

35 North’s Role:
As Syngenta’s design-builder, 35 North developed logistics plans, ensuring seamless execution during regular work hours without disrupting ongoing operations. We provided oversight from the design phase through construction completion – including demolition, redesign, and buildout – streamlining processes to successfully execute the project in under five months and within budget constraints.
