Beech Bluff County Park

WAKE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA

Development of the former Southwest County Park in Wake County, NC, provides a universally inclusive recreational amenity for Wake County residents. The core principles of focus for this project included ecological diversity, historical and cultural significance, as well as health and human wellness.

Scope included site components consisting of a Visitor Center with classrooms, playgrounds, picnic shelters, exhibits and signage (wayfinding, entrance, trail/hiking, etc.), and walking trails. Also involved in the scope were landscaping features and outdoor areas such as a community garden, native prairies, outdoor classroom areas, and public artwork. Site clearing and grading, excavation and backfill for stormwater and sewer utilities, erosion control, and irrigation were also considered. In addition, onsite asphalt parking spaces and roadways, and site lighting along the roadways and throughout the parking areas were considered throughout the estimate.

35 North provided cost estimating services for this project. Situated in southwest Wake County, the newly named Beech Bluff County Park opened to the public in early 2025.
