Emergency Power Distribution
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND
This project consists of adding emergency power for MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland that will include the addition of new 5000A, 480/277V emergency switchboards that will serve two new 2000kW diesel generators.
The two new diesel generators will be in enclosures on the second-floor roof of the North Building and will be placed on existing structural steel by crane. These two new diesel generators will supply emergency power by the new 5000A emergency switchgear using a 6000A main bus. The new 5000A, 480/277V emergency switchboard will also be supplying emergency power to three existing automatic transfer switches, three new automatic transfer switches, and two existing motor control centers.
This project also includes adding a fuel cooler for each generators’ day tank and replacing two existing transfer pumps. There will be an additional transformer and panels to pick up other miscellaneous loads.
