NCDOT Road Work Improvements
Our role and responsibility included land acquisition, scope creation, bid solicitation, General Contractor selection, contract management, scheduling, testing, quality control, and project closeout. We managed all negotiations between NCDOT and Durham County as well as the Owner.
Project included road work improvement for 3 NCDOT major roads in Research Triangle Park, Cornwallis Road, Davis Drive, and Laboratory Drive.
Cornwallis Road Scope:
Project included adding a right run lane 525 LF on the approach to the existing intersection and upgrades to the intersection signalization, 5” of B25.0B Roadway Base, followed by paving 4” of I19.0B Intermediate Course Pavement. Pavement section was completed with 3” of S9.5B Surface Course pavement.
Davis Drive Scope:
Project included adding a left turn lane to Syngenta entrance, installation of RCP drainage, 5” of B25.0B, followed by 4” of I19.0B Intermediate Course pavement. Final pavement section of 3” of S9.5B Surface Pavement completed Davis Drive paving.
Laboratory Drive Scope:
Project included full depth reclamation, milling of the existing pavement, grading and compacting of existing stone base, 2.5” of I19.0B Intermediate Course pavement followed by 1.5” of S9.5B Surface Course Pavement.

• Utility relocation
• Installation of drainage
• Installation of concrete curb and gutters
• Installation of temporary and permanent roadway striping
