Manufacturing and Laboratory Facility

DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA

Pearl Therapeutics, Inc. (now an AstraZeneca company),  Phase II, Manufacturing Facility
A construction fit-up of a 15,000 SF facility that manufactures a Metered Dose Inhaler product for Phase II clinical trials. The facility included process manufacturing, mechanical, shipping and receiving, as well as laboratory and administration space. The facility was fitted out inside an existing core and shell space.

Pearl Therapeutics, Inc. (now an AstraZeneca company), Phase III, Laboratory Facility
This was a renovation project of 3,700 SF of laboratory space to upgrade facilities and equipment for Pearl’s Product Development Laboratory. Renovated spaces and facilities included a chemistry lab, storage, sampling area, administration, and upgrade to the emergency power backup system. This new configuration of the product development laboratory allowed for the addition of new lab equipment, including a mass spectrometer.

As the design-build firm for this project, we were responsible for overall project management and oversight. Services included program, project, and construction management, with responsibility for everything from scope creation and bid solicitation to subcontractor selection, coordination, and final close-out. We managed subcontractors and vendors, cost controls, quality assurance, equipment procurement, document control, cost management, and scheduling.
