Randall Library Advance Planning
WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA
This project entailed a study for the expansion and renovation to the existing 155,135 SF library. Three cost models were presented to and evaluated by the library leadership team and university:
1) An 18,000 SF addition for a new automated retrieval system (ARS) to house the collections and free-up space in the existing library for additional user space;
2) A 25,000 SF addition to meet the revised program with new construction and a less intensive renovation of the existing library;
3) A 40,000 SF addition allowing for more new construction and more modest renovation to the existing library.
