VA Medical Center William Jennings Bryan Dorn Replace Emergency Generator Deficiencies

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA

The project consists of removing generators in Buildings 8, 22, and 103 and placing new generators at Buildings 20, 22, and 103. The work includes providing new automatic transfer switches with isolation bypass, new circuit breakers, and new feeders were applicable. The brick/CMU building located next to Building 22 will be demolished, but the slab retained for the new generator.

Temporary power will be provided for Building 103 during the time that the generator is replaced. The Contractor will provide an 80kW temporary generator for Building 22 and tap into the existing Building 22 Automatic Transfer Switch in order to back feed the distribution systems.
