VA Medical Center William Jennings Bryan Dorn Replace Emergency Generator Deficiencies
COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA
The project consisted of removing generators in Buildings 8, 22, and 103 and placing new generators in Buildings 20, 22, and 103. The work included providing new automatic transfer switches with isolation bypass, new circuit breakers, and new feeders. The brick/CMU building located next to Building 22 was demolished, but the slab retained for the new generator.
Temporary power was provided for Building 103 during the time that the generator was replaced and the contractor provided an 80kW temporary generator for Building 22 and tapped into the existing Automatic Transfer Switch in order to back feed the distribution systems.
35 North provided cost estimating services for this project.
